“Take a Trip.”
Sometimes, you need to calm down really quickly. A good way to do this is to take a “mental” trip. Here’s how it works.
Picture yourself doing something that makes you really happy. It may be a vacation that you took with loved ones. It can be walking on a beach. It’s your vacation, so it can be anywhere and anything. Rehearse this over and over again.
The next time that a child gets you upset, take your mental vacation for a second or two before you speak. When you are really calm, speak.

Please visit our Program Goals that gives you our Child Care Program Plans. The plans are sectioned into categories dependent on your child's age. The world at your child's fingertips approach to success.
World Around Us has teamed up with the Creative Curriculum Network to offer a wonderful on line child development support service. World Around Us parents and teachers track each child's development and create an on line portfolio. A portfolio includes parent-teacher Child Observation Records that map the child's growth and a journal to record experiences and insights from parents and teachers. World Around Us parents can receive information about development and print out home base activities targeted to their child's development. Parents can view our curriculum and participate in the assessment process at http://www.creative curriculum.com/.
